It is incredible that a toddler can be sexually abused. Priscilla and Marcel (surname and place of residence are not provided if requested) are affected parents and have experienced a nightmare. “What we went through is unimaginable,” said the two of them in a GN conversation. “We didn’t get any help back then, that’s why we want to support victims,” they explain their move to the press.
Your concrete help is in a small, colorful bag. It is filled with a cuddly toy, crayons, coloring book and free tickets for a visit to the zoo or amusement park. “We would like to give affected families a nice day on which they can forget all their worries,” explains Marcel. In the Netherlands, the couple has already achieved a lot through their commitment.
Among other things, they are satisfied that the pedophile association “Martijn”, which had existed since 1982, was banned in April 2014 in the last instance. In the Netherlands, the legal dispute over the pedophile association had caused a sensation since 2011. “We didn’t even know the club before we were affected, and we were shocked when we saw the website,” says Marcel. Then the couple filed a complaint against the association – because of the “instructions for use on child abuse”.
Priscilla and Marcel have documented their “fight against abuse” on their website. Their own history of abuse has placed a heavy burden on family life. The couple moved to Upper County six years ago to get some distance. In Germany, too, they want to campaign against abuse.
Blood in his underpants
In 2006 Priscilla and Marcel’s first daughter was born in Enschede. As they both worked, Marcel’s mother looked after the child two days a week. This was also the case in 2009, the day the couple got home from work and a world collapsed for them within seconds. “The little one had to go to the bathroom,” begins Marcel, “when I think about it, I get goose bumps.” In the toilet, the girl whined and called “Ouch, ouch”. “Then I saw that there was blood in my underpants,” says the father. When Priscilla asked what happened, the daughter replied: “Geert did that.”
Geert B. was the neighbor in Glanerbrug. “At first we had good contact,” says Marcel. However, one day a strange incident occurred. When visiting the neighbor, the little daughter was supposed to pull sweets out of his trouser pocket. “We told him straight away that he shouldn’t do that. The neighbor reacted piqued and has not spoken to us since, ”said Marcel.
